What we collect

- Health information you choose to share on your profile, such as disabilities, long-term conditions, mental health and smoking habits.
- Guardian or walī details (if applicable).
- Identity verification data, including the selfie and identity document you provide.
- Messages and communication between users.
- Membership status from Apple, Google or Stripe, depending on where you subscribed. We never see or store your card details.
- App usage and technical data (device info, IP address, push notification identifiers, and the essential cookies our website needs to work).
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Help match you with compatible users.
- Keep the app safe and secure.
- Improve our service and fix technical issues.
- Comply with legal requirements.
We never sell your personal data.
Legal basis for using your data
We process your data based on:
- Your consent (for things like photos and optional details).
- Our contract with you (to provide the app and its features).
- Our legitimate interests (to improve and protect the platform).

We only share your data with trusted partners who help us run the app: our hosting provider, Sendbird (in-app messaging), Firebase (push notifications), ComplyCube (identity and document verification), Stripe (payments), and Klaviyo (email updates). Payments made in the app are handled by Apple or Google.
Our website counts page views without cookies and without identifying you. We do not use advertising trackers.
We may also share information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
Data retention
We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal requirements.
If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your data within 30 days unless we must keep it for safety or legal reasons.

We use encryption, secure servers, and restricted access to protect your information.
