Community guidelines

Suhba works because everyone here is looking for the same thing, and treats each other accordingly. These guidelines are short on purpose.

Be honest

Use your real name, your own recent photos and truthful details. You are here for marriage, so say what you are looking for and where you stand on the things that matter.

Be respectful

Speak to others as you would in front of their family. No harassment, insults, pressure or persistence after someone has said no. Disagreement is fine. Disrespect is not.

Keep it modest

No explicit, suggestive or inappropriate photos or messages. Photos must show your face clearly and be of you alone.

Guardians are part of this

Walīs and guardians are welcome and expected. Do not try to move a conversation off Suhba to get around them, and do not pretend to be someone’s guardian.

One account, one person

Do not create multiple accounts, share your account or make an account for somebody else. Under 18s are not permitted.

No selling, no scams

Never ask another member for money, gifts or financial details. Do not use Suhba to promote a business, cause or anything unrelated to finding a spouse.

Report and block

If someone crosses a line, use Report or Block from their profile or the conversation. You do not need to explain yourself to them. Our team reviews every report.

How we moderate

Moderation on Suhba is done by people, with some checks made automatically first. This is what happens:

  • Every member passes an identity check before they can join, and every profile photo is checked before other members see it.
  • A member of the Suhba team reads every report. Reports about safety, and anything involving a child, are looked at first.
  • The person you report is not told who reported them.
  • We act as quickly as we can. While we look into a report we may hide content or restrict an account.
  • If you think we got a decision wrong, email team@suhba.app and we will look again.

Consequences

Breaking these guidelines can mean a warning, removal of content, suspension or a permanent ban. Serious matters are reported to the authorities.
